Broadway legend Idina Menzel is set to star in Sony's new Cinderella movie musical as the evil stepmother. Previously announced, pop superstar Camila Cabello will make her acting debut in the title role. Emmy Award winner Billy Porter will play the Fairy Godmother.
Idina Menzel is best known for originating Elphaba in Broadway's Wicked and as the voice of Elsa in Disney’s Frozen. She reprises her voice role in the upcoming animated film Frozen 2. Her new Christmas album, Christmas: A Season of Love, is out now.
Filming is set to begin in London early next year.
