Camila Cabello is making her star turn in a new Cinderella project.

On Tuesday (April 9), the "Never Be the Same" musician was announced to make her acting debut in a feature film based on a new retelling of the classic fairy tale, Cinderella, according to an exclusive report from The Hollywood Reporter. Screenwriter Kay Cannon, best known for helming all three installments of the Pitch Perfect film franchise, will serve as director for the future movie project.

In addition to her role, the Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter is said to also be involved in the music for the upcoming motion picture, established at Sony's Columbia label. Per THR, the Cinderella concept was supposedly inspired by an original idea from Late Late Show host James Corden, who will produce the project with Fulwell 73 colleague Leo Pearlman.

While details plot-wise have remained concealed, THR notes the tale is described as "a modern reimagining of the traditional tale of the orphaned girl with an evil stepmother, with a musical bent thrown in for good measure."

Although the "Havana" artist has yet to make a public announcement confirming her premiere acting part, she did post a picture of Disney's animated Cinderella, wearing a shocked facial expression, on her Instagram Stories earlier today. (See the snap below.)

We'll keep you abreast on details as they become available — but we can't wait to see Camila in her first big role!
