Mickey Guyton is opening up about the "craziest experience" of her life.

"This is uncharted territory," the country star, who recently toured China, revealed to Questlove on the May 31 episode of The Questlove Show. "There is nothing in common with country music and China. The biggest country song there is John Denver's 'Take Me Home, Country Roads.' A lot of people learned English from that song. It is very endearing."

When asked about how she found success in China, the "Black Like Me" singer revealed she competed on a Chinese music competition show called The Singer.

"It's so random how I got out there [in China]," the musician admitted. "I went on the show, and it gives you a whole different audience you'd never be open to. I thought, 'Why can't I bring country music out to China?' The show came to me and asked if I would do it. I was like, 'Why not?' Let me see what it's all about. It was the craziest experience of my life!"

The "Remember Her Name" songstress reflected on the impact the show had on her career, particularly overseas.

"It gave me a whole different audience," Guyton remarked. "Every week, I was singing for 150 million people. There are so many avenues of being heard, and I was trying to find another space to be in front of. I think every artist should do that."
