Alex Newell Chats About Season Two Of 'Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist'

Broadway and TV star Alex Newell recently joined iHeartRadio Broadway's SJ Arnegger to talk about what viewers can expect from season 2 of NBC's musical series Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist. Newell, who plays Mo, describes this season for his character as a bigger evolving storyline. "Last season was us going into Zoey's world, and this season is a lot of Zoey coming into our world,' Newell stated as we see Mo starting to work with Zoey's best friend Max on a new business venture and possible a new romantic love interest as well.

The official NBC description for the second season, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist continues to explore the feelings we keep buried on the inside, the human impulse for connection and the undeniable healing power of music and dance. Following a tragedy, Zoey (Jane Levy) and the Clarke family begin to recalibrate and navigate their new normal. As she finds herself in a new dynamic at work and in her love life, Zoey’s musical powers will continue to both awkwardly complicate and inform her worldview as she attempts to rediscover joy and connect with those around her.

Along with Alex Newell, Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist stars Jane Levy, Skylar Astin, John Clarence Stewart, Andrew Leeds, Alice Lee, Michael Thomas Grant, Kapil Talwalkar and Mary Steenburgen.
