Tony-Nominated Play ‘for colored girls..' Extends Broadway Run

The Broadway play revival of Ntozake Shange’s for colored girls who have considered suicide/when the rainbow is enuf, has extended its Broadway engagement by two weeks!

The seven time Tony Award nominated Broadway play will continue on Broadway after it's original closing date. The play directed and choreographed by Camille A. Brown, will now run through Sunday, June 5, at Broadway’s Booth Theatre. Originally, the play was set to close on May 22nd.

This play originated in 1976, but is currently nominated for Tony awards including Best Revival as well as lighting, sound, costumes and a featured actress nomination for Kenita R. Miller. The revival play is also the only non-musical play to be nominated in the choreography category. Brown is the first person ever to be nominated in both Direction of a Play and Best Choreography at the Tonys.
