With the final curtain quickly approaching for Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Broadway, stars Eric Anderson and Ricky Rojas stopped by the iHeartRadio Broadway studio to celebrate the hit musical and reflect on their time in the spectacular world of the Moulin Rouge.
Anderson, who plays Harold Zidler, and Rojas, an original Broadway cast member who plays Santiago, have both become an important part of the show's Broadway legacy. During their visit, the two actors shared stories from their experiences with the production, giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at life inside one of Broadway's most dazzling shows.
The visit comes during an especially emotional final stretch for the production. After more than seven years on Broadway, Moulin Rouge! The Musical will play its final performance at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on August 30, 2026. The Broadway production began previews in June 2019 before officially opening in July 2019, going on to become one of the most celebrated musicals of its era. Before the Broadway run comes to a close, Aaron Tveit, who originated the role of Christian in the world premiere and on Broadway, is returning for a strictly limited engagement of 15 performances, running August 18 through August 29 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre.
Winner of 10 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Moulin Rouge! The Musical brings Baz Luhrmann's iconic 2001 film to the stage with a celebration of more than 160 years of music, blending beloved songs from the film with contemporary hits. Since its Broadway premiere, the musical has become a global phenomenon, performing for more than 12 million audience members across 15 productions worldwide.
