Complete Casting Announced For 'Pal Joey' at New York City Center

Complete casting has been announced for the New York City Center Gala revival of Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart's Pal Joey, set to run November 1-5. Production co-director and choreographer Savion Glover will appear in the revival's onstage dance ensemble, which, according to press notes, will serve as "descendants of ancestral spirits that speak in the language of dance."

Featuring a new book by Richard LaGravenese and Daniel “Koa” Beaty, the revival reimagines the main character to be a Black jazz singer struggling to make it big in the Chicago nightclub circuit, played by Ephraim Sykes. Joining Sykes will be Elizabeth Stanley as Vera, Aisha Jackson as Linda, Loretta Devine as Lucille, Brooks Ashmanskas as Melvin, and Jeb Brown as Tony.

The ensemble will be Krystina M. Burton, Marshall L. Davis Jr., Dormeisha, Jarvis Manning, and Brittany Nicole Parks. The non-spirit ensemble will comprise Mary Antonini, Taylor Marie Daniel, Leandra Ellis-Gaston, Jodeci Milhouse, NaTonia Monét, Rory Shirley, and Allysa Shorte.

Tickets can be purchased online at NYCityCenter.org, by calling 212.581.1212, or in person at the City Center Box Office. Gala packages for the opening performance on Wednesday, November 1 at 6pm, which include dinner and dancing at the Ziegfeld Ballroom, start at $2,500.
