The First Ever Broadway Revival Of 'Funny Girl' Recouped Its $16.5 Million

"Lea Michele's Performance in 'Funny Girl' is one of the top five musical theater performances I've seen in my lifetime." says Charles McNulty of the Los Angeles Times. That's just one of the thousands of rave reviews Michele has seen since playing Fanny Brice in the Broadway revival of 'Funny Girl.' Now, producers Sonia Friedman, Scott Landis and David Babani are thrilled to announce that the first-ever Broadway revival of Funny Girl has recouped its $16.5 million capitalization after opening in April 2022 at the August Wilson Theatre (245 West 52nd Street).

The revival has been critically acclaimed and record-breaking but now the show must end on September 3, 2023. The hit Broadway revival would have played 599 performances and 30 previews. You can still get tickets here.

Funny Girl set a box office record at the August Wilson Theatre for the week ending January 8, 2023 with a gross of $2,062,739.00 after an eight-performance week. Prior to Funny Girl, Mean Girls on Broadway held the house record in 2018 for $1,994,386.00
