NaTasha Yvette Williams To Join The Cast Of 'Tina' Beginning February 2nd

Tina - The Tina Turner Musical announced today that NaTasha Yvette Williams will assume the role of “Zelma” beginning Friday, February 4, 2022. Dawnn Lewis, who originated the role of “Zelma” in the Broadway production will play her final performance on Sunday, January 30, 2022. NaTasha Yvette Williams was most recently seen on Broadway earlier this season in Chicken and Biscuits as “Brianna” and previously in Chicago as “Mama Morton,” Waitress as “Becky,” A Night With Janis Joplin as “Aretha” and “Joplinaire,” The Gershwin's Porgy and Bess as “Mariah,” and The Color Purple as “Sofia.” She will soon be featured in Netflix’s “Partner Track” and the upcoming historical thriller ALICE, which opens in movie theaters on March 18, 2022. NaTasha is a proud founding member of Black Theatre United.

Tina - The Tina Turner Musical officially reopened at Broadway’s Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on October 8, 2021. The Broadway production, which originally opened on November 9, 2019, was nominated for 12 Tony Awards including Best Musical.
