Kate Rockwell To Host 'The Broadway Happy Hour Podcast'

Broadway Wine Club and iHeartMedia New York’s iHeartRadio Broadway announced today the launch of a new iHeartRadio Original Podcast, The Broadway Happy Hour Podcast. The podcast, distributed by the iHeartPodcast Network, premieres today and can be heard on iHeartRadio, iHeartRadioBroadway.com and everywhere podcasts are heard.

Sip wine with the stars at The Broadway Happy Hour Podcast, hosted by Kate Rockwell, Broadway actor and certified wine expert. In each episode, Rockwell will interview guests from Broadway about their work on stage and screen and what they love to drink. Unlike other interview podcasts, The Broadway Happy Hour will feature a variety of unique stories from backstage to the best bars, all while teaching you more about fine wine, cocktails, craft ales and other delicious libations. Listeners can pour a glass and join in on the fun.

“We missed so much when live theatre shut down, not only the shows, but the community of people in this business,” said Arvind Ethan David, Co-Founder of Broadway Wine Club. “Rather than longing for these pre or post show conversations over a glass of wine at a bar, we revived them via this podcast. ‘The Broadway Happy Hour Podcast’ brings these intimate cocktail conversations to audiences everywhere through our partnership with iHeartMedia.”
iHeartRadio Broadway is beyond thrilled to have Broadway Wine Club and Kate Rockwell join the iHeartRadio Broadway platform with The Broadway Happy Hour Podcast, said Sarah Jane Arnegger, Director for iHeartRadio Broadway. “Kate’s ability to chat about wine and Broadway feels like a conversation with your best friend at your favorite wine bar after seeing a great show. Listeners will pick up some great wine tips from Kate while also getting to know their favorite Broadway stars in a new way.”

Kate Rockwell has starred in Mean Girls: The Musical, originating the role of the pretty-but-dim Karen Smith. Her previous Broadway credits include originating the role of Skylar in Bring It On: The Musical, Sherrie in Rock of Ages, Margot in Legally Blonde, and Hair. When she is not performing, Kate loves to share the spotlight with her second love...wine! Rockwell is WSET certified with years of experience in the NYC wine industry.

“Hosting iHeartRadio's The Broadway Happy Hour Podcast, has been a real light for me after the past eighteen months,” said Rockwell. “Bringing together the two worlds I love the most -- wine and the Broadway community -- is a real dream come true. The opportunity to have in-depth conversations about life, art, and everything in between with my spectacular showbiz friends has been such a gift, all while getting to share a glass of wine. Our conversations truly make it feel just like we are back together again, in our favorite wine bar in Midtown, right after the curtain comes down!"
