Taraji P. Hensen To Play Miss Hannigan In NBC's 'Annie Live!' This December

Oscar and Emmy nominee Taraji P. Hensen will take on the iconic role of Miss Hannigan in NBC's upcoming next big musical production Annie Live!. The TV adaptation will air on December 2nd, with full casting to be announced at a later date. NBC also announced that the currently planning a national wide search to find the next young performer to take on the title role. Annie Live! will be helmed by City Center Encores Artistic Director Lear deBessonet and the creative team will include: choreographer Sergio Trujilo, costume designer Paul Tazwell, scenic designer Jason Sherwood, live TV direction by Alex Rudzinski with former NBC Chairman Robert Greenblatt and Neil Meron serving as executive producers. The original production of Annie premiered in 1977 and features a score by Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, book by Thomas Meehan and has seen multiple revivals on Broadway and around world, as well as the original 1982 film adaptation along with two additional film remakes.
