Today the Ambassador Theatre Group and Underbelly confirmed that Tony, Oscar and Olivier winner Eddie Redmayne and Jessie Buckley will star in a new production of Kander and Ebb's Cabaret in London. Redmayne will be taking on the role of the Emcee while Buckley will star as star as Sally Bowles. The production will be directed by Rebecca Frecknall and include a creative team comprised of costume designer Tom Scutt, choreographer Julia Cheng, musical director Jennifer Whyte, lighting designer Isabella Byrd, sound designer Nick Lidster and associate director Jordan Fein. The production will open in November an further casting will be announced at a later date.
Redmayne won a Tony and Olivier Award in 2010 for his role in John Logan's play Red. He would later go on to win an Oscar for The Theory of Everything and nominated the following year for The Danish Girl. Buckley was the breakout star from the UK musical theatre competition I'd Do Anything and has been seen on the West End in A Little Night Music, Romeo and Juliet and screen credits include Wild Rose, I'm Thinking of Ending Things and Judy.
