Antoinette Chinonye Nwandu's 'Pass Over' To Open On Broadway

Playwright Antoinette Chinonye Nwandu will make her Broadway debut with the upcoming limited engagement of Pass Over. The production was previously seen at Lincoln Center Theatre and will help reopen not only Broadway but the August Wilson Theatre. The exact date and casting for Pass Over are still to be announced. Pass Over will be directed by Danya Taymor, who is also making her Broadway debut

Pass Over was inspired by both Waiting for Godot and the Exodus saga, and tells the story of Moses and Kitch, two young Black men dreaming a life that takes them far beyond their street corner. Pass Over premiered at Steppenwolf Theatre Company before moving in 2018 to Lincoln Center Theatre to be a part of the LCT3 programming. A film version (of the Chicago staging) directed by Spike Lee can currently be viewed on Amazon Prime Video.

Pass Over is produced by Nwandu, LCT, Jujamcyn Theatre, Matt Ross, Concord Theatricals, Renee Montgomery, Blair Underwood and Madeleine Foster Bersin.
