Apple TV+’s highly anticipated new musical series Schmigadoon! has finally set a release date. The Lorne Michaels produced series will premiere on Friday, July 16 with two episodes followed by weekly releases every Fridays thereafter. Schmigadoon! will feature an all-star cast including SNL's Cecily Strong (also serves as a producer on the show), Keegan-Michael Key, who play a couple on a backpacking trip trying to keep their relationship spark going. During the trip they happen to stumble upon a magical town that somehow is stuck inside a 1940's musical. Making matters even more complicated, they learn they can't leave the town until they find true love.
The new series features some of the best musical talent and include: Alan Cumming, Kristin Chenoweth, Aaron Tveit, Dove Cameron, Ariana DeBose, Fred Armisen, Jaime Camil, Jane Krakowski, Ann Harada and Martin Short.
Schmigadon! was co-created by Ken Daurio and Cinco Paul, who will also serve as showrunner as well as the composer of the original songs for the series. Schmigadoon! is directed and executive produced by Barry Sonnenfeld.
