New Lin-Manuel Miranda Animated Musical Film 'Vivo' Is Heading To Netflix

According to Deadline, the new Lin-Manuel Miranda animated musical film Vivo is headed to Netflix. The streaming company has obtained all global rights (minus China) to the Sony Pictures Animation Film, which is scheduled for a June 4th theatrical release. No word on a Netflix premiere date. The film features songs written and performed by Miranda and is directed by Oscar nominee Kirk DeMicco and Brandon Jeffords, with the script written by DeMicco and Pulitzer Prize winner Quiara Alegría Hudes. Vivo is centered around an active Kinkajou (a rainforest bear, voiced by Miranda) who travels from Havana to Miami seeking out new music.

The voice cast includes: Miranda, Grammy winner Gloria Estefan, Juan de Marcos González, Ynairaly Simo, Zoe Saldana, Michael Rooker, Brian Tyree Henry, Nicole Byer, Leslie David Baker, Katie Lowes, Olivia Trujillo, and Lidya Jewett.
