Tony Award Voting to take place in March, No Date For Ceremony

Even though a date has yet to be announced for the 74th Annual Tony Awards, Deadline is reporting that Tony Voters will be able to cast their ballots starting March 1st. The voting period will run March 1st-15th and coincide with the anniversary of the Broadway shutdown. The Tony Award nominations were announced back in October 2020 and even though it was stated an actual awards ceremony would take place virtually towards the end of 2020, a date was never announced by The Broadway League and The American Theatre Wing.

The 2020 Tony Award Nominations were announced via YouTube by Tony winner James Monroe Iglehart on October 15th. The Alanis Morissette musical Jagged Little Pill led the pack with 15 nominations and earned at least one nomination per eligible category. Moulin Rouge! The Musical came in with 14 nominations, including the lone Best Performance by an Actor in a leading Role in a Musical for Aaron Tveit.
