Last week Leslie Odom Jr. joined iHeartRadio Broadway's SJ Arnegger to talk about his 4th studio album The Christmas Album. The Album, which comes out tomorrow, November 6th, features 11 songs with two originals written by Odom Jr. The album features holiday songs that we all know and love, with a few surprises thrown in. Also featured on the album are Odom Jr. wife Nicolette Robinson, Cynthia Erivo and the Mazansi Youth Choir.
Leslie Odom Jr. talked about how the album was born out of the need for a bit of joy right now and went on to talk about how the process of recording an album during a quarantine was challenging. After his tour for the successful album Mr. was canceled due to COVID-19, Odom Jr. took a moment and pivoted to get back in the studio to record an album that the world needs right now.
Odom Jr. also talks about what the future holds with upcoming projects, the legacy of Hamilton and chats about his fellow Hamilton co-star Jasmine Cephas Jones debut EP.
