Netflix Donates $1 Million To The Actors Fund

Netflix is giving back to individuals contributing to our country’s cultural vibrancy during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The streaming platform will donate $1 million to the Actors Fund as part of a $100 million fund for entertainment workers. The Actors Fund fosters stability and resiliency, and provides a safety net for performing arts and entertainment professionals over their lifespan.

“The community has supported Netflix through the good times, and we want to help them through these hard times, especially while governments are still figuring out what economic support they will provide,” Ted Sarandos, chief content officer of Netflix, said in a statement.

A $1 million fundraising campaign by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids is in the works as well.
