Some Like It Hot, the Marc Shaiman-Scott Wittman stage musical adaptation of the 1959 film, will make its pre-Broadway debut in Chicago next March!
The musical will feature direction and choreography by Tony Award-winner Casey Nicholaw, music by Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Scott Wittman and Shaiman (Hairspray) and a book by The Inheritance playwright Matthew Lopez. The Chicago Tribune reported today that the show will play for a limited engagement dates from March 2 - April 4, 2021 in the Cadillac Palace Theatre.
The original film starred Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon. The plot follows two musicians who dress in drag to escape from gangsters.
