James Van Der Beek, Carly Hughes to Lead 'Bye Bye Birdie' at Kennedy Center

The 1960 Tony-winning musical Bye Bye Birdie will get an all new staging this April at the Kennedy Center. Stars of both the stage and screen are leading the cast.

James Van Der Beek will portray Albert Peterson, Carly Hughes will play Rosie, Mallory Bechtel will play Kim MacAfee, Ann Harada plays Mr. MacAfee, Tony nominee Reg Rogers plays Mr. MacAfee, Tony nominee Caitlin Kinnunen will play Ursula, and Megan Sikora plays Gloria Rasputin. They are also joined by Four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein, who will play Albert's mother, Mae.

The Washington D.C. production will run from April 23rd through the 28th. This production will be directed by Marc Bruni, with choreography by two-time Tony nominee Denis Jones, and music direction from Todd Ellison.
