Jessica Vosk, Wesley Taylor & More Celebrate West Side Story Opening Night


The revival of the beloved Stephen Sondheim musical West Side Story opened Thursday, February 20 at the Broadway Theatre. Before the performance, Jessica Vosk, Wesley Taylor, Yara Martinez, Sherie Rene Scott, and more stars walked the red carpet to celebrate the occasion. Ivo van Hove’s re-imagining of West Side Story stars Shereen Pimentel as Maria, Isaac Powell as Tony, Yesenia Ayala as Anita, and Amar Ramasar as Bernardo, Amar Ramasar as Bernardo, Jacob Guzmanas Chino, Ahmad Simmons as Diesel, Danny Wolohan as Officer Krupke, Daniel Oreskes as Doc, Thomas Jay Ryan as Lt. Schrank, Pippa Pearthree as Glad Hand, and Kevin Csolak as A-Rab. 33 performers make their Broadway debuts with this production, including Dharon E. Jones as Riff, Matthew Johnson as Baby John, Elijah A. Carter as Action, and Zuri Noelle Ford as Anybodys.

Other cast members include Alexa De Barr, Gabi Campo, Daniel Ching, Lorna Courtney, Marc Crousillat, Stephanie Crousillat, Roman Cruz, Israel Del Rosario, Jordan Dobson, Tyler Eisenreich, Armando Eleazar, Marlon Feliz, Satori Folkes-Stone, Constance François, Yesy Garcia, Carlos Gonzalez, Jennifer Gruener, Jarred Manista, Michaela Marfori, Ilda Mason, Michelle Mercedes, Mina Pinerom, Michael Seltzer, Corey John Snide, Sheldon True, Ricky Ubeda, Madison Vomastek, Tony Ward, Bridget Whitman, and Kevin Zambrano.This production marks the first major New York staging of the musical to stray from original director Jerome Robbins' recognizable aesthetic.
