Taylor Swift Reveals What She Loved Most About Starring In 'CATS' Movie

Taylor Swift is the latest star to grace the cover of British Vogue.

On Monday (December 2), the “ME!” pop star was unveiled as the cover girl for the publication’s upcoming January 2020 issue, hitting newsstands December 6. Inside, Swift touches on her experience acting role in the hotly anticipated forthcoming musical film, Cats, arriving in theaters on December 20. Swift spoke with the film’s executive producer and musical composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, with whom the 29-year-old co-wrote the soundtrack song, “Beautiful Ghosts.”

In the feature, Swift opens up about her latest album, Lover, and recalled approaching the LP as though she were giving live performances and how it influenced her acting in Cats. “When you perform live, you’re narrating and you’re getting into the story an you’re making faces that are ugly and you’re putting a different meaning on a song every time you perform it,” she explained.

“Does that ever make you feel you want to be an actress?” Webber asks, to which Swift admits, “I have no idea.” The superstar goes on to elaborate that, although she was unsure of what career path she’d take when she was younger, Cats taught her to embrace new things as they happen. “I really had an amazing time with Cats,” she added. “I think I loved the weirdness of it. I loved how I felt I’d never get another opportunity to be like this in my life.”

As Swifties know, the “Lover” musician portrays Bombalurina in the feature film alongside a star-studded cast that includes Jennifer HudsonJason DeruloJames Corden, and others.
