Kathy Bates Honored At The 24 Hour Plays Broadway Gala

Screen and stage stars gathered at the Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre on November 18 to honor Academy Award-winning actor Kathy Bates at The 24 Hour Plays Broadway Gala.

David Harbour, Patrick Wilson, Dagmara Domińczyk, Maura Tierney, Justin Long, Jesse Eisenberg, and more were some of the exceptional talents who worked together to write, direct, and perform six original plays in 24 hours. This year’s gala proceeds benefitted Lymphatic Education & Research Network. LE&RN works to fight lymphedema and lymphatic disease through education, research, and advocacy. Kathy Bates serves as LE&RN’s National Spokesperson.

Bates took stage for the first time in 36 years to share her personal journey with lymphedema and to tell stories of many others who inspire her in her quest to raise awareness for the disease.
