Tony Award winner Andrew Garfield will portray Jonathan Larson's depiction of himself in the film adaptation of tick, tick... BOOM!
The upcoming Netflix film directed by Broadway legend, Lin-Manuel Miranda, will feature a script by Dear Evan Hansen Tony Award winner Steven Levenson. Deadline reports that Garfield will star as the late composer Jonathan Larson who wrote the musical before his best known work, Rent.
In 2014, Miranda played Jonathan in Encores! Off-Center's production of the musical alongside Hamilton veterans Leslie Odom, Jr. and Karen Olivo. Additional casting and a production timeline for tick tick...BOOM! will be announced at a later date.
