The cast of the all new Back to the Future musical continues to grow. Tony Award winner Roger Bart has been cast as Dr. Emmett Brown. The production will open in February of 2020 at the Manchester Opera House before moving to London's West End.

From Playbill, Bart said this on his casting:

I am thrilled to be here in the great city of Manchester, England, to introduce to the world this extraordinary incarnation of this hilarious and heart-warming story. Playing the role of Doc Brown, made iconic on film by the brilliant Christopher Lloyd, is going to be the adventure of a lifetime. After all, at this stage of my life, who doesn’t want to go back in time?

Bart joins Olly Dobson (Marty McFly), Hugh Coles (George McFly), Rosanna Hyland (Lorraine Baines), and Cedric Neal (Goldie).

The show features a book by the movie's co-writer Bob Gale. It will also feature additional songs from the film like "The Power of Love", and "Johnny B. Goode." It will be directed by Tony winner Jonh Rando.
