'The Lightning Thief' Hits Broadway Tomorrow

Get ready to feel the power of the gods!

The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical is set to begin performances on Broadway tomorrow, September 20, 2019. This production will take place at the Longacre Theatre for a 16-week holiday engagement. An official opening night is scheduled for October 16th.

Official synopsis:

As a son of Poseidon, Percy Jackson has newly discovered powers he can’t control, monsters on his trail, and is on a quest to find Zeus’ lightning bolt to prevent a war between the Greek gods. Based on the bestselling novel by Rick Riordan and featuring a thrilling original rock score, with an onstage company of seven playing more than 47 characters,The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical is an action-packed theatrical adventure about accepting that normal is a myth and embracing the superpowers inside all of us.

Not only is this musical invading Broadway but it will also be featured at this year's New York Comic Con at an exclusive panel called "The World of Percy Jackson: From Page to Stage." Panelists include director Stephen Brackett and cast members Chris McCarrell, Jorrel Javier, Ryan Knowles, Sarah Beth Pfeifer, and more.

The lottery policy has also been announced and is as follows:

Beginning Monday, September 23, $42 tickets will also be available via a lottery powered by Shubert Ticketing through the Telecharge Digital Lottery platform, which provides theatergoers wide access to affordable tickets through multiple social media networks. Available performances will be posted on LightningThiefMusical.com/lottery as early as 12:00am EST the day of the performance. Matinee lotteries close at 10:00am and evening lotteries close at 3:00pm. Winners can purchase their tickets atLightningThiefMusical.com/lotteryand will pick up their tickets at the Longacre Theatre box office with their credit card.
