'Aladdin' Has Big Box Office Debut Over Memorial Day Weekend

World Premiere of Disney's "Aladdin" In Hollywood

It was a big Memorial Day weekend win for Disney's Aladdin. The latest live-action adaptation from Disney was a big success at the box office, bringing in $113 million, a big improvement over Disney's previous live-action remake of the classic, Dumbo, which brought in just $45.9 million in its opening weekend.

Aladdin beat out the predictions, which estimated the film would open to $100 million over the holiday weekend. Despite earning a low score on Rotten Tomatoes, audiences have responded well to the movie. They even gave it an A rating on CinemaScore.

The latest live-action remake for Disney is directed by Guy Ritchie and stars Will Smith (Genie), Mena Massoud (Aladdin), and Naomi Scott (Jasmine).
