Golan’s 'The Wrong Man' To Make MCC Theater Debut in September

The MCC Theater announced on Thursday (April 18, 2019) that The Wrong Man, an all new stage musical written by multi-platinum songwriter Ross Golan, will be the kickoff to its new 2020 season. Performances will begin Wednesday, September 18, 2019 in its new Hells Kitchen home. Opening night is set for October 7, 2019.

The Wrong Man is directed by Thomas Kali (Hamilton), and features orchestrators Alex Lacomoire, as well as choreography from two-time Emmy winning choreographer, Travis Wall.

The show’s writer, Ross Golan, has written hit songs for artists of multiple genres such as Ariana Grande, Maroon 5, Charlie Puth, Michael Bublé, Pink, Lady Antebellum, and many more.

According to the press release, The Wrong Man is a “singular and exciting new work… The wrong man meets the wrong woman in the wrong place at the wrong time. Set in Reno, Nevada, The Wrong Man tells the story of Duran, a man just scraping by, who is accused of a murder he says he didn’t commit.”

Golan’s concept album that the musical will be released on a date yet to be determined. He performed songs form that album to a sold out SXWS crowd earlier this month which received high praise from Vanity Fair, calling it “Just brilliant.”
