Danny Elfman, the legendary composer of Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas, the Fifty Shades Of Grey trilogy, The Simpsons theme song, and more, is set to compose an original score for Broadway's Gary: A Sequel to Titus Andronicus.
Taylor Mac's new comedy Gary: A Sequel to Titus Andronicus stars three-time Tony Award-winner Nathan Lane, Kristine Nielsen, and Tony Award-winner Julie White. Gary is set immediately after the conclusion of William Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus. Previews began last night, March 11, and the production is set to open at Broadway's Booth Theatre on April 11. Gary is directed by 5-time Tony Award winner George C. Wolfe.
Elfman told Rolling Stone, “I’ve been missing the fun and excitement of live interaction with theater, where I had my first music experiences many, many years ago, and where I wrote my very first compositions. When Scott Rudin (producer) called with the idea of bringing me in on Gary, I thought it would be an incredible opportunity to be able to work with such an amazing, talented group. I just had to jump in.”
