Full-length 'Aladdin' Trailer: Will Smith's Genie Raps, Gets A Makeover

The first full-length trailer for Disney’s live-action Aladdin remake is finally here! After a few short teasers, fans of the beloved animated film finally got to see Princess Jasmine in action and hear snippets of classic songs like "A Whole New World" and "Friend Like Me." After facing backlash over the appearance of Will Smith's Genie, the trailer also showcased a more natural look for the wish-granting sidekick.

Smith not only caught fans' eyes with his makeover, he stole the show with his rousing performance of "Friend Like Me." And, yes, Smith will be rapping in this version of Aladdin. Mena Massoud’s Aladdin and Naomi Scott’s Princess Jasmine also sound wonderful as they belt out "A Whole New World." After not appearing in the original teaser, fans were excited to finally get the first glimpse of Scott as Jasmine and she, unsurprisingly, did not disappoint.

Disney also released the new, colorful poster for the film, showcasing all the major players, including Jafar, the Sultan, Abu, and Rajah.

Led by famed director Guy Ritche, Aladdin also features Marwan Kenzari as Jafar, Navid Negahban as the Sultan, Nasim Pedrad as Jasmine’s friend Dalia, and Billy Magnussen in the new role of Prince Anders, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Aladdin flies into theaters (via magic carpet, we hope) on May 24. Are you excited?
