'King Lear' Casting Is Complete!

The casting for the Broadway revival of William Shakespeare's King Lear has been finalized just in time for its previews which began yesterday February 28. 2019. Michael Arden plays the "Aide to Cornwall," Ian Lassiteras plays the "King of France" and Justin Cunningham as the "Duke of Burgundy" with ensemble members Che Ayende, Therese Barbato, Stephanie Roth Haberle, Daniel Marmion, and John McGinty. The production will officially open April 4 through July 7.

Other previously announced cast members include Tony winner Jayne Houdyshell as "Earl of Gloucester," three-time Obie winner Elizabeth Marvel as "Goneril," Aisling O’Sullivan as "Regan," Pedro Pascal as "Edmund," Tony nominee and two-time Drama Desk Award winner John Douglas Thompson as "Earl of Kent," two-time Olivier winner and Golden Globe winner Ruth Wilson as "Cordelia/Fool," Sean Carvajal as "Edgar," Dion Johnstone as "Duke of Albany," Russell Harvard as "Duke of Cornwall," and Matthew Maher as "Oswald."
