It's time to try defying gravity... in the movie theaters!
Universal Pictures has officially set its Wicked movie premiere date for the Christmas season with a release date of December 22, 2021.
The beloved musical is becoming a movie directed by Stephen Daldry and produced by Marc Platt. The three-time Tony Award-winning stage musical was adapted from Gregory Maguire’s novel by Winnie Holzman and three-time Oscar-winning composer/lyricist Stephen Schwartz, who are also collaborating on the screenplay adaptation.
Originally, Wicked was set to debut in theaters this December 2019, but instead Andrew Lloyd Webber 's Cats is making its big-screen debut. I can't wait to scream-sing along in December 2021 to Wicked in theaters!
