Sunday, January 27th, the legendary Broadway musical, Rent, was set to be performed live on FOX until actor Brennin Hunt, who played Roger, broke his foot during dress rehearsal. Since there was no understudy cast for the part of Roger, audience members watching from home saw a ton of pre-recorded footage from the Saturday night dress rehearsal.
However, the cast of Rent remained unshaken and still put on a performance of a lifetime! The studio audience were treated to an actual live performance featuring Hunt in a wheelchair. Television viewers watched footage from Saturday night until the actual live finale, that featured cameos from the original Rent cast and Hunt performing with his foot in a fresh cast from a table.
