Olaf Swaps Genders Ahead of "Frozen's" First Anniversary

Open up the gates! Frozen is approaching its first anniversary on the Broadway stage.

The beloved Disney musical announced some cast changes ahead of its on-stage birthday. There will be a gender swap; Ryann Redmond will become the first woman to play the beloved snowman Olaf, as well as a new Hans and Kristoff.

Joe Carroll (Once, Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella, Bandstand) and Ryann Redmond (Bring It On The Musical, If/Then) will join the cast as Hans and Olaf, and current cast member Noah J. Ricketts will assume the role of Kristoff. Redmond is the first woman to be cast as a Olaf in any production of Frozen. Frozen’s original stars Caissie Levy (Elsa) and Patti Murin (Anna) have extended their contracts and will continue starring in the production.

Frozen joined the Disney Theatrical hits Aladdin and The Lion King on March 22, 2018 and has been selling out shows ever since. The show is not just for women and children, it's a show that everyone, of all ages will love!
