Broadway is buzzing with excitement as Mamma Mia! returns to the stage, and three rising stars are stepping into the spotlight for the very first time. Danielle Monaro from The Elvis Duran Show sat down with Amy Weaver, Lena Owens, and Haley Wright at the iHeartRadio Broadway studio to talk about their journey to making their Broadway debuts in the beloved ABBA-filled musical.
Weaver takes on the iconic role of Sophie, the spirited bride-to-be at the heart of the story, while Owens and Wright play her best friends, Lisa and Ali, who bring energy and laughter to every scene. The trio shared how surreal it feels to be performing in such a well-known and cherished show, especially one that has been a fan favorite for decades.
During the conversation, they opened up the moment they found out they were heading to Broadway and what it’s like to step into their characters night after night. They also dished about their backstage rituals, favorite ABBA songs to perform, and how their real-life friendship mirrors the close bond their characters share on stage.
