West End Shows To Return To Stage This Fall

Despite an increase in coronavirus cases London's West End is set to begin live shows again this fall. Six is set to reopen at the Lyric Theatre in November for an 11-week run. It will be the first musical to reopen in London since being shutdown back in March.

The show's main producer, Kenny Wax, said that they are anticipating having to cancel some shows and is aware of the risks of re-starting a show during a pandemic.

This is very much about jobs. I’d need to start laying off staff in October if I don’t get shows back on.

According to the New York Times report,

Because the musical involves only six actors onstage, there will be few changes because of the virus. The choreography for one song will be rejigged so that the wives are not singing directly at one another.

Wax also said that if the British government did decide to shut the show down he hoped it would only be for a couple of weeks. He thinks they can make a reasonable profit if the run sold out.
