Mar Shaiman To Write Original Music For Neil Simon's 'Plaza Suite' Revival

The first-ever New York revival of the Neil Simon classic, Plaza Suite, is set to get some original music. Tony Award-winner Marc Shaiman will be the one penning the songs.

Shaiman continues to add to the incredible people involved in this revival. It stars two-time Tony winner Matthew Broderick and two-time Emmy award winner Sarah Jessica Parker in this comedy about marriage. It is also directed by Tony Award-winner John Benjamin Hickey.

Shaiman teased the announcement of his involvement in the project on Instagram, which you can view below.

On Shaiman joining the production, Hickey said:

In terms of beloved New York icons, Marc is right up there with… well… with Neil Simon, Matthew Broderick, and Sarah Jessica Parker. To have Marc, our dear friend, writing music for this play that celebrates love and marriage in New York City is a dream come true.

Plaza Suite will play a limited engagement in Boston before coming to New York from February 5th through the 22nd. It is scheduled to begin previews in New York on March 13th before an official opening night of April 13, 2020.
