Emmys Celebrate Broadway with Nominations for Fosse/Verdon and More

Broadway is going to be celebrated at the 2019 Emmy Awards. The FX limited series, Fosse/Verdon, earned a total of 17 nominations. Those nominations include Sam Rockwell and Michelle Williams, who portrayed the legendary broadway couple, Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon.

Other nominations for the acclaimed series went to director Thomas Kail, actress Margaret Qualley, and Alex Lacmoire.

Not only is Fosse/Verdon getting some Emmy love, but other Broadway folks are also seeing nominations.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge is nominated for Best Actress in a comedy for season 2 of Fleabag.

Tony Award winner Billy Porter is nominated for his performance in Pose. Also nominated were Viola Davis (Tony and Oscar Winner), Laura Linney (Tony Award Nominee), and Christina Applegate (Tony Award Nominee).

Other familiar Broadway faces were also nominated. Tony Shalhoub, Marin Hinkle, Sarah Goldberg, and Jessica Hecht all received nominations for the shows they are involved in.

There is no doubt that Broadway stars will shine come Primetime Emmy night.
